Universal Planning to Continue the Bourne Legacy with Renner

Jeremy Renner will return as Aaron Cross in the sequel to THE BOURNE LEGACY, which is a spinoff of the Bourne series. Universal Pictures is set to make this follow-up movie and hired Sherlock Holmes and Invictus screenwriter Anthony Peckham to write the script. Ever since the end of the third Bourne movie, Universal has been trying to get Matt Damon back to the series (and the spinoff), there were even rumors that both Damon and Renner should both appear (possibly as allies or rivals) in the movie after 'Legacy. But it looks like Damon will not be around for more Bourne, and this new movie is just going to feature Renner as the main character. [continue after the jump]

Bourne Legacy to have Asian Premiere in the Philippines

The upcoming BOURNE LEGACY which has had many of its scenes shot in the Philippines, specifically Metro Manila and Palawan, will be having its Asian Premiere here in the Philippines, at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Philippines on August 5, 2012.

BOURNE LEGACY is the fourth film in the Bourne series. This sequel, however, will not be having the Jason Bourne character on it (neither Matt Damon, of course), but it is set in the same universe and continuity as the Bourne series. It will have the same characters; Pamela Landy (played by Joan Allen), Noah Vosen (played by David Strathairn), and Exra Kramer Scott Glenn), and Dr. Albert Hirsch (Albert Finney). To be specific, this movie revolves around the same shadow group and assassin program that has created Jason Bourne, and a new assassin character named Kenneth Gibson who is heavily compared to Jason Bourne. THE BOURNE LEGACY poster & first teaser trailer has been released online

The first teaser poster and the first official teaser trailer for THE BOURNE LEGACY have recently been released online.

Filming for THE BOURNE LEGACY may still be going on in Metro Manila, Philippines, but the early teaser poster for the movie, and an early teaser trailer has already hit the net.

THE BOURNE LEGACY is the fourth film to the Bourne series which began with THE BOURNE IDENTITY (2002), then THE BOURNE SUPREMACY (2004) and THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007). THE BOURNE LEGACY is considered a spin-off to the original series because it will not feature the main character of the first three movies, Jason Bourne. It will, however, be set in the same universe of the first three movies, and will feature many of the characters of the first three movies as well.
