Peyton Reed is the new director of Ant-Man

After the grueling drama of finding a replacement for Edgar Wright, the search is over for Ant-Man’s replacement director as Marvel confirms Peyton Reed as the new helmer. Adam McKay, who originally sought to replace Wright but turned down the offer, will instead board the picture in a screenwriting capacity and will make contributions to the script. Director Edgar Wright Exits ANT-MAN over Creative Differences

Bad news to Marvel fans; Edgar Wright has vacated the director’s chair of Marvel’s Ant-Man.  Marvel Studios and Wright released a statement explaining the reason for the departure, saying it was “due to differences  in their vision of the film.”  This move is not expected to impact the July 17, 2015 release date as Marvel is zeroing in on a replacement, though no negotiations are currently in place. Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly are still expected to star alongside Corey Stoll, Michael Peña and Patrick Wilson.

Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on ANT-MAN due to differences in their vision of the film. Michael Douglas Cast in Ant-Man as Hank Pym ...But Wasn't Paul Rudd Already Cast as Ant-Man?

Michael Douglas is joining the cast of Marvel's ANT-MAN for the role of Hank Pym. I'm sure some of you are confused thinking Paul Rudd has already been cast to play the title character Ant-Man. You see, in the comics, Hank Pym is the character who originally takes the superhero persona of Ant-Man, when he invented a suit (and equipment) that could give him the ability to change his size. A decade later, Marvel created a character named Scott Lang, he was a thief who stole Henry Pym's Ant-Man suit to save his daughter Cassie from a heart condition. Reforming from his life of crime, he soon took on a full-time career as the second Ant-Man with the encouragement of Hank Pym. Paul Rudd will play the role of Scott Lang. But will the movie have its spotlight only on the second Ant-Man as its main hero? Or is it possible to have the two versions in that one movie? [hit to jump to continue]

Paul Rudd is Marvel's Ant-Man

For several months now, there has been much speculation on who will be the lead to play the lead character in Marvel’s “Ant-Man”... now it's official: Paul Rudd will be the one to don the costume of the Avenger superhero; The Ant-Man. Months ago the candidates who were lined up for consideration were Simon Pegg, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Paul Rudd himself. Even back then, we though Rudd was the best choice (Pegg was too comedy, while JGL was too ...pop). Anyway, JGL now has the (DC Vertigo) Sandman role and Pegg is still a funny comedian, so, everybody happy. Paul Rudd is perfect for Ant-Man, the Marvel superhero who has the ability to shrink into the size of an ant, and also grow into the size of a giant.

"Ant-Man" will be the first movie to immediately kick-off Marvel's phase three. Phase two ends with “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015 and "Ant-Man" immediately arrives on theaters July 31, 2015. [hit the jump to continue]

Marvel's ITEM 47 on the upcoming AVENGERS blue-ray/dvd

Oh you thought you merely wanted to buy the upcoming AVENGERS dvd or blue-ray? Now Marvel has given another reason for you to lust over the upcoming DVD.

The upcoming Blue-Ray / DVD will contain a short film entitled ITEM 47. This is not the first time that Marvel DVDs have this. When the THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA special edition blue-ray / DVD and blue-ray were released, it also contained short films(refered to as "One Shots") featuring AGENT COULSON; in one of them we get to see Coulson in action against some robbers. While the first two Marvel one-shots, Something Funny Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer and The Consultant both ran four minutes, Item 47 will run twelve minutes, and will go on a "much bigger ride" (Oh this should be bigger, considering it has its own damn official poster) The Blue-ray/DVD will be released in the market on September 25, 2012.

Hulk TV series? Ant-Man movie coming?

AVENGERS and MARVEL fans, both old and NEW, would surely be excited to know that Marvel president Kevin Feige recently stated that Marvel plans to release two films a year from here on out.

The Avengers made an insane amount of money, so all eyes are on what Marvel Studios has coming up. Feige revealed that there are two unannounced Marvel projects currently in development, in addition to Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain America 2.
