Second Star Wars Anthology Film to feature Boba Fett

Boba Fett and Bounty Hunter scenes from "Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back"
The new and revived Star Wars universe under the watch of Disney is growing faster with the announcement of its anthology (spin-off) films. We already know a lot about the Star Wars anthology film coming out the year after Episode 7, which is Gareth Edwards‘ "Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One". Recently, we get to find out two big news about the second anthology movie.[hit the jump to continue]

Boba Fett and the Bounty Hunters
Reports have revealed that the next Star Wars spinoff film will focus on the origin story of the bounty hunter Boba Fett, and will focus on the Star Wars universe's bounty hunter filled underworld. I'm not a big fan of Boba Fett, considering that, in my opinion, he is really not as awesome as he looks (having a lousy onscreen death on "Return of the Jedi" isnt awesome at all), but I am interested on the notion that this movie might go and explore the universe of bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe.

Josh Trank's Exit
Josh Trank (director of "Chronicle") who was initially been chosen as director, has left the project. Here is his official statement:
“After a year of having the incredible honor of developing with the wonderful and talented people at Lucasfilm, I’m making a personal decision to move forward on a different path. I’ve put a tremendous amount of thought into this, and I know deep down in my heart that I want to pursue some original creative opportunities. That said, the Star Wars universe has always been one of my biggest influences, and I couldn’t be more excited to witness its future alongside my millions of fellow Star Wars fans. I want to thank my friends Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, Simon Kinberg, and everyone at Lucasfilm and Disney for the amazing opportunity to have been a part of this. May the Force be with you all.”

While he claimed that it was a personal decision, insiders say Disney was concerned that Trank showed “erratic behavior” during the production of his new film "Fantastic Four". Come to think about it, it was a bit odd that Disney and Lucasfilm did jump the gun in immediately hiring Trank based on just one film. Disney and Lucasfilm are currently hunting for a new director for this second Star Wars anthology film.
