This week at the FDCP Cinematheque, their celebration of Women's Month continues with the screening of the award-winning film "Ang Huling Cha-cha ni Anita" which will be screened from March 17 to 22, 2014, with screening skeds on 3:30 and 5:30 PM on Tuesday to Thursday, and 1:30, 3:30, and 5:30 PM from Friday to Sunday, with admission only at P100. "Ang Huling Cha-cha ni Anita"is a feature length Filipino film about the magic of first love through the eyes of a child, and how a little cha-cha can make a dream come true. In this fantastical tale, twelve-year-old Anita falls in love with the new woman in town. Amidst whispers speculating the intentions of this mysterious and beautiful new arrival, a girlhood crush blossoms during yearly traditional fertility dance in Obando, Bulacan, Philippines. This film is the debut feature of writer and director Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardo, and it won Best Picture at the 2013 CineFilipino Film Festival, and the Volunteer’s Choice Award at the 38th Frameline San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. It has scored big attention internationally as it toured several LGBT film festivals, it screened at the Taiwan International Queer Film Festival, Kagawa Rainbow Film Festival in Takamatsu, Kagawa, and also was screened at the Tokyo International Lesbian and Gay Festival.
