This will be a straight-up adaptation of his original graphic novel, which is what got him onboard with the project after he had expressed disdain at the thought of a remake.
Corin Hardy's The Crow reboot used to be F. Javier GutiƩrrez's The Crow reboot. The film, which has no star, was once going to star Luke Evans. Series creator James O'Barr used to be against the film being made- thinking the Brandon Lee original was hallowed ground- but is now onboard with the project with the understanding that it won't be a remake of that film but rather a faithful adaptation of his work.
The Crow will be working off of a script by Cliff Dorfman, who wrote the screenplay for the underrated Warrior back in 2011. No release date has been set as of yet.
