Is Jason Momoa playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman?

Jason Momoa will be playing Aquaman. Yet another superhero addition to appear in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" so much so that it's already (obviously) an open secret that this is in order to fast track into a Justice League movie. [hit the jump to continue]

While Warner Bros. hasn't made that announcement officially yet, HitFix can confirm that he will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon.

Our Opinions
Jason Momoa is one of those trump card actors when it comes to genre/fantasy/superhero/geek movies. You save him up to play somebody like Conan. Or in the case of DC, you'd probably save him to play characters like Mongul or even Doomsday. Momoa to be Aquaman seems to be a needless move.

Even if DC's Cinematic Universe plans to adapt the barbaric-looking version of Aquaman, he did not need to be that humongous, so much so that he could make Henry Cavill's Superman look wimpy.

But then again, the casting is not the main problem that seems to be endangering this project. We said it time and again that the problem here is their sloppy ruch just to get to a Justice League movie. Let's just hope our paranoias are wrong, and this turns out to be a good move after all.
