One of those lesser-known-movies but remembered-by-a-cult-audience and/or diehard horror fans is the 1988 campy flick "The Blob" which is itself a remake of a 1958 film of the same title. Now, The Blob is about to be remade for a new generation, and director Simon West (Expendables 2, The Mechanic) is at the helm of this project. In an interview, West talks about his plans for the remake:
“With modern CGI we can now fully realize the potential of The Blob. The world I create will be totally believable, immersive and emotionally satisfying. It’s a thrill to introduce an enduring icon to a wider audience and a whole new era of fans.”Shooting is set to begin this summer and a target release date is yet to be set.
