MAN OF TAI CHI Review

This film has not yet been released in the US, so its a treat to see this movie already. MAN OF TAI CHI has a tone of simplicity; it does not aspire or have pretensions to achieve anything else except for just being a straight-to-the-point martial arts movie. And it does accomplish its task with flying colors. But despite its simplicity, the evidence of achieving an impressively well-directed movie is clear; the story of its main character is weaved beautifully, following him in his life from being a sort of an underdog in his menial job, from being a simple humble man, and into his journey into darkness, his innocence gradually being corrupted. Trailer Tuesdays: Man of Tai Chi, The Lone Ranger, Odd Thomas, Turbo, Elysium

Our Trailer Tuesdays this week brings forth some trailers for the upcoming Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, and Gore Verbinski adaptation of THE LONE RANGER, the Keanu Reeves' directed Martial Arts breakthrough film MAN OF TAI CHI, and the Stephen Sommers directed ODD THOMAS which is based on the Dean Koontz novel of the same name. All of them set to open tomorrow July 17. While on July 19, we have the Dreamworks' animated movie TURBO. We also get a glimpse of ELYSIUM which is the new movie from writer-director Neil Blomkamp who has given us the groundbreaking DISTRICT 9. Keanu Reeves' Directorial Endeavor with MAN OF TAI CHI

We've seen him kick ass in the Matrix movies, and be a bad-ass in Constantine. But we've never really seen Keanu Reeves be THE bad guy, nor have we seen him be the director. Now we get to see that in the movie MAN OF TAI-CHI.

Keanu Reeves might possibly go through an evolution of reputation as he is about to show the world what he can do as a director with his directorial film debut in this movie. MAN OF TAI CHI is about a young martial artist's unparalleled Tai Chi skills, and how he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a highly lucrative underworld fight club.
