A lot of Halloween specials this week...
Doctor Strange
An arrogant surgeon named Stephen Strange who is the world's top neurosurgeon, fell victim to a serious car accident that severely injured his hands, ruining his career. He sets out on a journey of healing, where he encounters the Ancient One, who later becomes Strange's mentor in the mystic arts. "Doctor Strange" is directed by Scott Derrickson, who wrote the screenplay with C. Robert Cargill from a story by the duo and Jon Spaihts, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.
There is much optimism on "Doctor Strange" since it presents a refreshing side on the Marvel mythos, that of the supernatural and pseudo-horror aspect of comicbook movies.
Ouija: Origin of Evil
In 1967 Los Angeles, widowed mother Alice Zander (Elizabeth Reaser) unwittingly invites authentic evil into her home by adding a new stunt to bolster her séance scam business. When the merciless spirit overtakes her youngest daughter Doris (Lulu Wilson), the small family must confront unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
This supernatural horror film directed by Mike Flanagan and written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard is a prequel to the 2014 American film "Ouija". Unlike the first one which was panned by critics, this sequel looks like it's getting much praise.
Wild Oats
When a woman accidentally receives a life insurance check for $5,000,000 instead of $50,000, her friend convinces her to keep the money and they both end up on a mad dash towards the Canary Islands.
This comedy film is directed by Andy Tennant and written by Gary Kanew and Claudia Myers, and stars Demi Moore, Jessica Lange, Shirley MacLaine, and Billy Connolly. [x]
Eyes (Aizu)
Yukari (Marika Ito) is an ordinary high school student. One day, she sees a mysterious "F" marking on the nameplate of an apartment. Since then, misfortune and incomprehensible acts take place around her. She begins to see a girl and faces a shocking truth.
Based on the short story “Shirushi” from the short story collection "Aizu" by Koji Suzuki, this film has already been released in 2015 and is already available in youtube.
