"The Incredibles 2" has actually been in development for almost a year now and Bird has been writing the script for it. But with the announcment of Bird officially returning as director as well, we can safely pop our first champagne of excitement for this movie.
In a press day for his latest film "Tomorrowland" Bird revealed:
“Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn’t get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn’t enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I’m just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with the Incredibles sandbox again.”
"The Incredibles" is one of the best Pixar movies and also being often pointed to as one of the best superhero movie ever made.
Ever since the first movie, Brad Bird has transitioned his blooming career from animation (he also directed the equally phenomenal "The Iron Giant") and into live-action with "Mission: Impossible, Ghost Protocol) which pretty much rejuvenated the (then deteriorating) Mission: Impossible franchise. Now, his latest film, the promising "Tomorrowland" is set to hit theaters May 22 this year.
