First Official DEADPOOL Photo and Synopsis Revealed

Ever since news broke out that the movie is finally being greenlighted, with Ryan Reynolds on the lead, "Deadpool" is looking to be one of the most anticipated superhero/antihero movies, mostly due to a strong fanbase that had been drooling for a Deadpool movie for such a long time. Now, the first official photo that reveals the costume for the title character in the movie has been posted, along with the film's official synopsis. [hit the jump to continue]

The costume, which is faithful to the comics, looks pretty much the same from the one we saw in the proof-of-concept video that “leaked” online last year, which was created by Miller to show how Deadpool would work onscreen. That iteration of the Merc with a Mouth was seemingly produced via CG, but this new Deadpool image shows that Reynolds is indeed donning a physical costume for the film, possibly with some minor CG enhancements.

Here is the official synopsis for Deadpool;
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Aside from Reynolds, Deadpool's cast lineup includes Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, and Gina Carano. Deadpool is scheduled for release February 12, 2016.
