Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt to star together in By The Sea

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is probably Hollywood’s most well-known couple, so it was a big deal when they had that movie together in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". After a decade, the couple will once again be appearing in the same movie as leads of "By The Sea" [hit the jump to continue]

In Malta this week, production has begun on the movie "By The Sea" in which Angelina Jolie would write, direct, and star in it alongside partner Brad Pitt. Commandeering a beach (Mgarr ix-Xini beach to be specific) in Malta for shooting purposes until November 10th, Jolie will have wrapped the pic by the time the press tour for her other movie "Unbroken" (which she also directs) begins in December. 

Plot details for By the Sea are still under wraps, but it’s described as an “intimate, character-driven drama”. Speculations all around say that this might be a romantic movie done in the same vein as Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise movies.

Back in Malta, the construction of sets on Mgarr ix-Xini beach is already underway.  It’s unclear if the entirety of By the Sea will be shot on this beach or if stage work will be necessary at another location, but the length of time the beach will be closed signals that the bulk of filming will likely be done by November 10th.
